Waste water sludge, Walloon region

IBH analyzed management plans proposed by public authorities for waste water sludge (250,000 tons/year incoming sludge or 50,000 tonnes/year dry solids).
IBH compared technical solutions such as sludge drying, composting and digestion, fluidised bed incineration, pyrolysis and thermal oxidation, co-incineration with municipal waste.
The company also developed a strategic management plan for the whole region having regard to centralised or decentralised options for new treatment plants.
