The purpose of the project was the refurbishment of an existing incineration plant to a waste to energy plant generating electricity. The DWS plant is designed to handle 90,000 tpa of municipal waste. Two lines have the capacity to bum 6 tph waste each with a NCV of 9,200 kJ/kg. The recovery boilers deliver overheated steam to a 7 MW turbo-generator. The combustion chambers are equipped with a non catalytic DeNOx system. Each stream is fitted with two semi-dry lime scrubbers with lime milk injection and activated carbon injection and followed by bag house filters. IBH has a "Design, Build, Finance and Operate" contract type for this assignment.
